Home automation vendor EcoFactor recently won an award from GTM Research for working with Comcast on the cable operator’s Xfinity Home service.
The GTM Innovation Award recognized EcoFactor as one of the 11 leading companies selected from The Networked Grid 150. EcoFactor integrated its SaaS infrastructure with Comcast to provide Xfinity Home subscribers significant monthly HVAC savings on their energy bills.

Comcast first struck its partnership with EcoFactor early last year. Comcast is using EcoFactor’s cloud-based energy management service to enable its Home Energy Control offering in Xfinity Home.
Using Comcast's data and Xfinity Home services, EcoFactor provides a "smart home" platform that learns the heating and cooling patterns of a home and makes automatic and incremental adjustments to the broadband-connected thermostat based on real-time weather data, the thermal characteristics of the house and the temperature preferences of the occupants. The homeowner maintains full control over the thermostat. Over time, the system adapts to user inputs to help reduce energy while keeping the home comfortable.
