Sony has agreed to enable customers of its video products to access Popcornflix, an ad-supported over the top (OTT) movie service.
Sony Entertainment Network customers with Internet-connected Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players, and Blu-ray Home Theater devices can now access the Popcornflix for free.
Popcornflix has been available to people who use Roku and Boxee set-tops. Popcornflix says it has a library of over 650 feature length films, drawn primarily from the larger library owned by its parent company, Screen Media Ventures.
The company said that each month, 30 to 40 additional feature length films are added to the channel.
"We're thrilled to offer our free digital movie platform to Sony customers," said Gary Delfiner, President of Screen Media Digital, a division of Screen Media Ventures. "Now movie lovers can access hundreds of great feature length films free using web-enabled Sony products."
