Elemental, deltatre enter marketing deal

Elemental Technologies said it is teaming with deltatre to develop a multiscreen system they intend to market specifically for use by sports organizations and the broadcasters they work with.

While deltatre works with a range of suppliers of video processing systems, the company said that Elemental will be its preferred supplier.

The combined solution features Elemental video processing systems paired with the deltatre Diva video player, which that company has developed specifically for sporting events, and has designed to be customizable for each individual sport.

The combination of the product lines of the two companies would have broadcasters installing Elemental’s video processing systems at their facilities, providing a complete on-premise adaptive bit rate encoding video workflow. Video streams would be delivered to the deltatre Diva platform.

The combo solution also enables easy on-boarding of third-party technologies such as content delivery and ad insertion solutions, the two companies said.

The two companies already had a set of mutual clients; they had worked together to deliver video from the Pan American Games, Rugby World Cup and 2012 Olympic Games. So it was natural to work together, according to Keith Wymbs, VP of marketing at Elemental.

“Together with deltatre and its industry-leading Diva platform, we realized great success in delivering a superior service to our mutual clients in 2012,” Wymbs said. “Now we can offer them the opportunity to maximize their second-screen reach and viewer engagement even more efficiently.”
