Adelphia taps SeaChange for sports-on-demand

Adelphia Communications Inc. will tap SeaChange International's video-on-demand servers and software to power a new sports-on-demand service. An extension of its existing MediaCluster VOD platform, SeaChange's network-based personal video recording is designed to allow operators to customize tiers of free, ad-supported on-demand programming.

SEC ups Adelphia inquiry to formal probe

Adelphia Communications' woes continue. Yesterday, the MSO delayed its 10-K filing; today, the Securities and Exchange Commission is launching a formal investigation into some of the company's accounting practices. Yesterday, Adelphia announced that along with its auditor Deloitte & Touche LLP, it is reviewing the accounting treatment for matters related to its co-borrowing agreements.

In the just ended first quarter, Tellabs Inc. watched its profits continue to sink, and will be forced to cut another 1,200 jobs. SCTE posts 2002 board election results

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) posted the official results of its 2002 board of directors election, which named two directors-at-large, one director-at-large-Canada and regional directors for seven geographic areas.
