Sprint announced the rollout of its LTE service in four new markets, including expansion into the Chicago suburbs; Wichita Falls, Texas; New Bedford and Fall River, Mass.; as well as Hutchinson and McPherson, Kan.

The new markets are part of the carrier's nationwide rollout of LTE. Sprint recently announced its plans to deliver LTE to an additional 115 cities in the coming months.

In conjunction with its LTE rollout, Sprint has also been upgrading its 3G network as part of its $4 billion Network Vision initiative. As part of the initiative, Sprint claims that its customers can expect to see significant improvement in their 3G network experience, including expanded coverage, improved network reliability, better voice quality and faster 3G data speeds.

Sprint introduced its LTE network in July 2012 and currently offers service in 32 cities. That's a far cry from Verizon Wireless' LTE network, which recently hit 410 markets ahead of schedule. AT&T, meanwhile, offers LTE in almost 90 markets, and T-Mobile has said it will begin rollout of its network early next year.
