Pioneer announces 1M set-tops sold

Pioneer announced last month that 1 million Voyager digital set-tops have been sold since 1999. Pioneer's announcement complements its deployment of 1.3 million copies of ITV Passport. The latest version, the Voyager 3000 set-top, is powered by Broadcom's "system-on-a-chip" single chip MPEG processor.

Broadcom Corp. has announced the BCM1100 Internet Protocol Phone Engine, the world's first single-chip solution for enabling Ethernet IP telephones. The BCM1100 will enable manufacturers to deliver IP phones with the features and price levels required for large-scale deployment of desktop IP telephony.

TiVo partners with AOL

TiVo has expanded its existing strategic relationship with AOL to include an enhanced multi-million-dollar marketing and promotional campaign with AOL Time Warner. Under this agreement, TiVo will be promoted across AOL Time Warner online, print and television media properties, which will focus on educating consumers about the popular TiVo personal television service.

BroadJump trucks with Time Warner

BroadJump has inked another deal for its Virtual Truck self-provisioning technology. Time Warner plans to launch the Virtual Truck Qualifier in 17 of its markets. Time Warner will re-brand the technology as Road Runner System Qualifier. The technology can determine if potential subscribers have the necessary computing resources to support a broadband connection.
