The initiative creates specifications to support automating everyday business communication between cable system operators and Internet content providers. The program is modeled after two others at CableLabs, one each for DOCSIS, CableHome and PacketCable.
TV Cabo orders Pace home gateways

The company said in a statement that, "There is an industry-wide glut of consumer cable and DSL modems that has driven down prices and margins." Broadcom lowers Q2 expectations; starts changes

The company reported first-quarter net losses of $356.9 million, from net income of $38.6 million a year prior. Broadcom said last April it would review its business units and make reductions in some and invest in others.
Thomson makes a play for Alcatel's DSL unit
