The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is seeking exhibitors for its Smart Energy Management Showcase that will take place during SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.
The showcase is an expansion of the SCTE’s Green Pavilion concept that has been held at Expo over the past three years. SCTE said the showcase would focus on high-priority energy management strategies that increase sustainability, operational efficiency and economic benefits for the industry, as well as those solutions that can ensure network availability for business services and other critical offerings.
“As cable meets subscriber demand for new services, the need to manage energy supplies and cost has grown in importance,” said Derek DiGiacomo, senior director of information systems and energy management programs for SCTE. “The Smart Energy Management Showcase has been designed to help the industry identify and study products and solutions for the cost-effective and uninterrupted delivery of power and other related resources.”
Aligned with the SCTE’s Smart Energy Management Initiative (SEMI), the showcase will focus on four key areas: facilities and plant, fleet, operations, and information technology.
The SCTE said that products or solutions to be demonstrated must be available currently, or within a 12-month period, for widespread deployment and must have a tangible, bottom-line benefit for adopting companies.
More information and the showcase application are available online.
SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is slated for Oct. 17-19 in Orlando, Fla.
