Xfinity Home settles in Santa Barbara, Pittsburgh
The latest markets in which Comcast has launched its new Xfinity Home service include the company's Pittsburgh service area and its markets in Santa Barbara County.
The introduction of the service in Ballard, Buellton, Lompoc, Los Olivos, Orcutt, Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, Solvang and Vandenberg Village in Santa Barbara County completes the rollout of Xfinity Home in all of Comcast's California systems, the company said.
Xfinity Home offers traditional home security components, like police and fire alarm protection backed by 24/7 professional monitoring, as well as the ability to remotely adjust digital thermostats, turn lights on or off, and watch secure live streaming video from wireless cameras while away from home.
The service also comes with the Xfinity Home app, which is available free for Apple or Android smartphones.
The service was first unveiled in Houston in mid-2010 and is continuing to roll out into various markets in the U.S
