Elemental Technologies and Japan’s CTCSP have formed a strategic partnership to provide video encoding and transcoding solutions to streaming service providers in Japan.

The partnership brings together Elemental’s high-performance video processing systems and CTCSP’s broad systems integration expertise.

The deal formalizes an ongoing relationship. Together, the two companies have already secured as customers Fujitsu Limited, IIJ (Internet Initiative Japan) and JISS (Japan Institute of Sports Sciences).

Elemental currently serves more than 100 enterprise customers worldwide, including Comcast, Disney, Eurosport and HBO.

CTCSP is a group company of CTC, also known as Itochu Techno-Solutions Corp. One of the largest IT solution providers in Japan, CTCSP is a provider of content delivery systems.

“Solutions from Elemental allow our customers to deliver video streams of the highest quality to PCs, tablets and mobile devices with unprecedented performance that enables less expensive operational cost,” said Shinji Kumazaki, president of CTCSP. “Video processing from Elemental lets us achieve this with a higher degree of interoperability and with highly optimized H.264, MPEG-2 and VC-1 codec developed by Elemental themselves for high-quality streaming to smartphones and other devices.”
