Likewise, its creditors extended its due date and IDT picked up 33.7 percent interest in the company from Liberty Media. Teligent will divide Mandl's responsibilities between IDT execs: Yoav Krill, managing director of IDT's European division, will be COO and acting CEO of Teligent.

MobileForce software applications will be offered as part of a suite of operations management solutions under C-COR.net's Broadband Management Services, the company reports. C-COR.net will acquire MobileForce for a total $20 million in cash and assumption of its debt, with a potential $13.
Corning profits up; outlook down

Sales of $1.9 billion were up 26 percent, after acquisition costs, and optical fiber volume grew by 25 percent, Corning reports.

CompTel, a communications industry association, issued a statement urging Congress to scrap the Internet Freedom and Broadband Deployment Act of 2001, aka the Tauzin-Dingell bill.
Alcatel bids on Lucent's optical unit

Alcatel Chairman Serge Tchuruk reportedly has said the company has bid for the division. "We are not commenting," Lucent spokeswoman Mary Ward told CEDaily, when asked if the company was taking bids.
Liberate launches two products

Time Warner Cable/Juno team on Internet service

Both companies can market the service independently.
