Charter taps ex-Cablevision marketing veep as CMO

Jonathan HargisFormer Cablevision marketing veep Jonathan Hargis will be joining his former boss Tom Rutledge at Charter Communications next week as executive vice president and CMO.

Hargis is part of the executive exodus from Cablevision, where he had most recently been executive vice president of marketing.

At Charter, Hargis will oversee Charter's sales and marketing activities.

"I've worked with Jon for many years and am pleased to have him join the Charter team," said Rutledge, now Charter's president and CEO. "His 11 years of industry experience in highly competitive markets will bring valuable insight to Charter's operations."

Prior to joining Cablevision in 2000, Hargis was at AT&T. He has long served on the board of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) and has chaired the CTAM board.
