Cable industry veteran Kimberly Edmunds has moved on from a 15-year career at Cox Communications to become senior vice president of customer care for Comcast Cable.
In her new job, Edmunds is now responsible for all care strategies and operations in support of more than 17 million combined video, data and phone customers throughout the 15 states that comprise the Central Division. She will be based at division headquarters in Atlanta, which was also the location of her last job with Cox.
In 2010, Edmunds was promoted to senior vice president of customer operations at Cox's company headquarters in Atlanta. Prior to Atlanta, Edmunds was general manager and regional senior vice president of Cox's Kansas/Arkansas system. She was also vice president of customer care at Cox.
Before joining Cox, Edmunds served 10 years in a variety of customer service leadership roles with GTE Wireless, which is now Verizon Wireless.
Currently, Edmunds serves as a board member for The Cable Center and the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA). She is also a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) and is a fellow of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.
Edmunds started her new job with Comcast in January. Also last month, former Cox executive Randy Kinsey left the company for a new position with Charter Communications.
