Comcast’s thePlatform promotes three execs
Video management and publishing vendor thePlatform announced this morning that three of its executives have been promoted.
Alex Glass, who formerly served as vice president of global operations, will now serve in the newly created role of chief information officer (CIO) for Comcast-owned thePlatform.
Marty Roberts, who previously served as vice president of sales and marketing, has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing worldwide, while Mike Horwitz, formerly vice president of engineering, has been promoted to senior vice president of engineering.
All three report to Ian Blaine, co-founder and CEO of thePlatform.
"Alex, Marty and Mike have made invaluable contributions to thePlatform, our customers and to the overall video market," said Ian Blaine, co-founder and CEO of thePlatform. "At a time of significant growth and opportunities domestically and internationally, I am confident their proven expertise will enable us to accelerate our business as we further expand our partner ecosystem, customers and geographic deployments worldwide."
In his new role, Glass will manage business intelligence, security, service availability and worldwide system performance. He also previously served as vice president of client services and director of customer service, and as a solutions architect with thePlatform.
Prior to joining thePlatform, Glass was with Digeo, where he worked as both a project and program manager.
Roberts now leads worldwide sales and account management, overseeing all revenue generation, business development, product management, marketing, public relations and thePlatform's partner program.
Prior to joining thePlatform, Roberts was an executive at GiftCertificates.com and helped in the development of online video and digital media services at RealNetworks.
Horwitz has added development operations to his existing responsibilities for the company's core product development, testing and deployment, and operational business intelligence, including capacity planning and metrics monitoring.
Previously, Horwitz held senior-level engineering positions at Comcast. Most recently, he served as senior director of engineering for Comcast Converged Products. Before that, he was senior manager of engineering and principal engineer, both for Comcast Interactive Media.
The other members of Blaine's senior management team at thePlatform remained unchanged, with Jamie Miller serving as COO and CFO, Alan Ramaley as CTO, Simon McGrath as GM of Europe, and Tina Santos as chief legal counsel.
ThePlatform publishes video and other media to PCs, mobile devices and TVs. Its customer list includes Comcast, Cablevision, Cox Communications, Rogers, Time Warner Cable and Liberty Global.
