In keeping with its legacy of being a cable innovator, BendBroadband launched its TV Everywhere service this week with video content available from Turner Broadcasting.

While TV Everywhere has almost become table stakes for large cable operators – Time Warner-owned Turner and Comcast first hooked up on TV Everywhere in 2009 – BendBroadband President and CEO Amy Tykeson noted that her Oregon-based company was one of the first smaller cable operators to deploy the service.

“The TVE model has gained significant momentum in the past year, and this content from Turner’s networks is an important addition to our growing list of TVE programming,” Tykeson said.

With the launch of TV Everywhere networks from Turner, which include TBS, TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV and Adult Swim, BendBroadband customers now have access to more than 500 hours of online and mobile video entertainment. The content is available to BendBroadband’s subscribers within 24 hours after an episode airs. The content can be viewed on TVs, tablets or smartphones.

In addition to the content currently available from Turner, programming from Hulu has also been integrated into BendBroadband’s Web portal. BendBroadband expects to add HBO Go to its TV Everywhere lineup in the near future.

BendBroadband customers also have access to Turner’s iPhone and iPad free mobile apps for each channel, including live streaming of CNN's 24-hour television networks. Android apps are planned for launch in the coming months.

Despite its size, BendBroadband has been an early adopter on the technology front, including the 1997 launch of high-speed Internet, the 2008 conversion to an all-digital video platform and the 2009 rollout of HSPA+ wireless broadband over licensed spectrum to rural areas.
