S-A to launch cable modem; Bell Labs breaks record

The product also operates as DOCSIS modem, and uses a faster microprocessor than previous models. The cable modem is designed for Ethernet and USB conection, has a small footprint, uses WebWizard, and has enhanced bi-directional performance for data throughput.

The satellite company has filed a lawsuit against New York-based WFAN sports radio personality Sid Rosenberg over comments DirecTV says he made over the air. During a March 11 Imus in the Morning show with Don Imus, DirecTV says Rosenberg told Imus he had used an illegally modified DirecTV access card and urged Imus to do likewise.

DirecTV parent Hughes Electronics also updated its first-quarter guidance on the DirecTV service. The deal is basically a reseller agreement that gives DirecTV Broadband access to WorldCom's systems.

Under the deal, Motorola will bundle Zone Labs' CD-ROM with the SURFboard SB4200 retail cable modem, and may offer it to its broadband cable operator customers via bundling and its Web site, it says.
Net2Phone files lawsuit against Cisco

"This appears to be an effort to justify a business failure by filing a lawsuit," says Cisco spokesman Steve Langdon. ADIR has also announced it would pursue further cost-cutting measures.
