Bright House Networks said it will continue to build Wi-Fi access points not only in its own Florida service area, but across the state.

The company expects to continue its build-out throughout 2012 with thousands of Bright Wi-Fi locations.

Bright House has initially concentrated in marina areas, including Clearwater, Daytona Beach, Ybor City and River Walk. It said it will expand its focus on areas where its customers travel, such as I-Drive and shopping centers.

Customers who subscribe to Bright House Networks' Road Runner service will have Wi-Fi access in any of Bright House's Wi-Fi locations at no additional cost. Those who are not Bright House customers can also purchase Wi-Fi access for a per-use fee.

"Bright House Networks is dedicated to keeping its customers connected wherever they live, work or play," said Leo Cloutier, the company's vice president of strategy and business development. "Our goal is to offer Bright House Networks Wi-Fi coverage in all of the places people spend their time – beaches, parks, boat docks, or even at the ballgame."
