My TWC appTime Warner Cable has released its second Android-based app in as many weeks, with the latest, My TWC, taking flight today.

Time Warner Cable’s free My TWC app works on Android smartphones and tablets. The My TWC app allows subscribers to manage their services remotely from the various devices. The latest Android app followed on the heels of Time Warner Cable’s Wi-Fi Finder app that made its debut last week.

“We’re releasing Android-based apps thick and fast this holiday season,” wrote Jeff Simmermon on the cable operator’s corporate blog page. “Again, this kind of a thing is really table stakes in an increasingly app-driven world, but it’s got to be nice to have all the same.”

Time Warner Cable said it would have an iOS version of the Wi-Fi Finder app ready for release before the end of this month, while the My TWC app for iPhones and iPads should be ready to roll early next year.

Other cable operators, such as Comcast and Cox Communications, have also deployed features that let subscribers blend and manage their services remotely.

Once Time Warner Cable subscribers log in to the company’s “My Services” or TWC TV application, the My TWC app allows them to check a list of their services and subscriptions. While logged in, users can check their bill summary and amount due, as well as make payments via credit and debit cards or by electronic transfer.

The app is also integrated with Time Warner Cable’s phone service and lets users view incoming call logs, as well as use call forwarding to set home phone calls to be forwarded to any number, such as a user’s cell phone.

Under the “Coming Soon” category, the app will eventually let subscribers listen to and manage DHP voicemail and view outgoing and missed call logs.

By tapping on the TWC TV icon, users can launch the app and manage their DVR recordings and view TV listings remotely. The app also lets users check out up-to-date Road Runner news headlines.
