Pace, Amino both name new CEOs

There was an odd coincidence in the set-top box market today, with both Amino Communications and Pace announcing they are replacing their respective chief executives, effective immediately.

At Amino, Andrew Burke is out after three and a half years, “with immediate effect to pursue other opportunities.”

Burke’s replacement is Donald McGarva, who had been COO.

Amino was careful to say that it is about to report an annual profit and that its strategy remains unchanged; it will continue to concentrate on IPTV set-tops, with a focus on supporting over-the-top (OTT) services.

At Pace, Neil Gaydon “has decided to step down to take some time off and look for a fresh challenge,” according to the company. Gaydon had been at Pace for 16 years, serving as CEO for the last five.

Mike Pulli, who had been president of Pace Americas, is the new CEO and has been given a seat on the company’s board.

Pace, likewise, is expecting to report a profit for its current fiscal year.
