Time Warner Cable, in particular, and the cable industry in general will enjoy the presence of chief technology officer and executive vice president Mike LaJoie for at least several more years.
In a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Time Warner Cable said it had renewed its employment agreement with LaJoie through Dec. 31, 2014. LaJoie has held his current positions with Time Warner Cable since 2004, after previously serving as the company's executive vice president of advanced technology.
Known for his blunt candor, LaJoie has also been a visible figure at cable industry events, most recently as a panelist on the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo's MSO CTO panel. Also, last month, LaJoie was named as the SCTE's chairman of the board of directors for the 2011-2012 term.
According to Forbes, LaJoie's salary last year was $589,725, with a total compensation package of about $2.3 million.
Also in the recent SEC filing, Time Warner Cable renewed its employment agreement with Carlo Rossetti, executive vice president of the company and president of Time Warner Cable Ventures, through Dec. 31, 2014. The nation's second-largest cable operator renewed its agreement with Marc Lawrence-Apfelbaum, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of the company, through Dec. 31, 2014.
