SCTE's Green Pavilion grows to record 16 exhibitors at Expo
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is hosting a record number of exhibitors at this year's edition of its Green Pavilion at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta.
Now in its third year, the Green Pavilion will feature 16 organizations and vendors of energy-related products that will each present a comprehensive view of the energy and powering ecosystem during the Nov. 15-17 conference.
Exhibitors slated for the Green Pavilion include: 4CableTV, Alpha Technologies, Cisco, Colt Recycling, CommScope, Coppervale, LED Savings Solutions, Multilink, Round2, Safecom, SCTE, Universal Electronics, Toa Technologies, TVC Communications, Wipro Eco Energy and World Enviromental Services, with more exhihbtors pending.
The pavilion has been expanded this year to include power availability - including disaster preparedness, network availability and business services availability - as well as such topics as alternative and renewable powering, backup powering, power efficiency, power reduction, recycling and recovery, and travel reduction.
"One of the central themes at this year's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is how cable networks are evolving to deliver a host of new services to residential and business consumers," said Derek DiGiacomo, senior director of information systems and energy management for SCTE. "The Green Pavilion will focus on new strategies and technologies that can help operators to evolve their networks while reducing powering costs now and in the future, as well as minimizing service disruption when grid power is interrupted."
In addition to the Green Pavilion, the SCTE also will offer an expanded menu of energy-related sessions at Cable-Tec Expo, including facilities management workshops on: addressing increased demands on critical facilities, including headends, hubs and data centers; facilities management that can increase reliability, capacity and recovery; and Smart Energy Management strategies for increasing power efficiency and green initiatives.
SCTE will offer pre-conference presentations of the critical facilities and facilities management workshops on Nov. 14, in conjunction with a separate Capacity Management Symposium.
