On Friday, Bright House Networks’ iPad app hit the iTunes store, although a spokeswoman for the company said it won’t officially launch until tomorrow.

Bright House Networks’ iPad app lets digital basic service or higher subscribers watch up to 100 live channels on their iPads via Wi-Fi connections. Customers also need to have a Bright House “My Services” user name and password.

Bright House Networks typically works in lockstep with Time Warner Cable on new features and services. After coming up with a demo version of an iPad app last year, Time Warner Cable became the first cable operator to offer an iPad app for live streaming with its launch in March.

While Bright House Networks didn’t say what channels were available for live viewing, it’s safe to assume that its iPad lineup is similar to Time Warner Cable’s.

Currently, Bright House Networks’ free iPad app doesn’t offer a parental control capability. Time Warner Cable recently added parental controls and search by title/episode capabilities to its iPad app.

Bright House Networks subscribers could also see additional Time Warner Cable iPad app features going forward.

“In the fourth quarter, we're planning to add on-demand content, as well as local broadcast in other channels in New York City, in addition to even better search capabilities,” Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt said during last week’s earnings call. “We'll then add local channels in other cities during 2012.”
