SCTE lines up heavyweight MSO Technology panel for Expo
It will be a who's who of chief technology officers and other leading technology executives at this year's MSO Technology panel at the SCTE Cable-Tex Expo in Atlanta.
The panel, which will feature executives from five of the country's top cable system operators, will join an opening session that includes Cox Communications President Pat Esser, Motorola Mobility Chairman and CEO Sanjay Jha, and thought leaders from leading cable and CE vendors and others.
The MSO Technology panel will feature:
- Nomi Bergman, president of Bright House Networks
- Jim Blackley, executive vice president of corporate engineering and technology at Cablevision
- Tony Werner, executive vice president and CTO of Comcast
- Kevin Hart, executive vice president and CTO of Cox Communications
- Mike LaJoie, executive vice president and CTO of Time Warner Cable.
"More and more, technological innovation and consumer expectations are changing the very nature of cable telecommunications," said Terry Cordova, chairman of the program committee for Cable-Tec Expo and senior vice president and CTO of Suddenlink Communications. "We believe that the additions of Nomi Bergman, Jim Blackley, Tony Werner, Kevin Hart and Mike LaJoie to our opening lineup will provide unparalleled opportunities for Cable-Tec Expo attendees to learn more about the services that are on the horizon for the industry, and how cable networks can meet our future needs."
In addition to the opening session, the Nov. 15-17 Cable-Tec Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center will feature 40-plus sessions comprising more than 70 individual presentations. The sessions and presentations will address issues such as leveraging IPTV and untethered devices; powering improved services for business customers; and evolving networks to provide more capacity, greater reliability and more efficient operations.
Together with a Capacity Management Symposium and select workshops on Nov. 14, the educational portion of SCTE Cable-Tec Expo will encompass more than 25 topic areas in business services, engineering, technical operations, plant operations and facilities.
In addition, Cable-Tec Expo will offer sessions in conjunction with Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA).
