EarthLink has picked up former Cox Communications and Cisco exec Roy Frederickson, who has joined the company as vice president of national account support services.

Frederickson is responsible for services architectures, pre-sales support and ongoing customer service for EarthLink's National Account business unit.

At Cisco, Frederickson was involved in similar activities with an organization that delivered management and technical support for complex convergent networks, cloud computing and managed services solutions supporting major U.S. and Canadian accounts.

Frederickson joined Cisco from Cox Communications, where he was vice president of product development. Prior to Cox, he had been vice president of operations and support systems with UrbanMedia and vice president of sales support with LHS Communications.

"Roy's impressive experience will help him lead our customer engineering and support organization to even greater levels of technical proficiency, innovation and expertise," said Vikram K. Desai, president of National Accounts for EarthLink Business. "He has a firm grasp of the real-world business challenges facing our National Account customers and the experience required to lead the creation of customer tailored, best-in-class solutions enabled by EarthLink's powerful and unique capabilities."

Added Frederickson: "I cannot imagine a more electrifying time to join EarthLink Business. As companies demand more advanced solutions, we are the go-to partner that knows how to deliver the customized, integrated services and support to help them thrive."
