TVC Communications has cut a deal with PeerApp to offer the latter's UltraBand product solutions throughout North and South America.

TVC Communications, a subsidiary of Wesco International, is already selling PeerApp's UltraBand caching and content delivery systems to operators that seek to improve end-user quality of experience and reduce network infrastructure and bandwidth costs associated with carrying over-the-top (OTT) video and peer-to-peer traffic.

"Our operator customers urgently need tools to help them manage the ever-increasing capacity demands from video and OTT content," said Jim Manari, responsible for leading the TVC business. "With PeerApp, we will offer customers a best-in-class solution that scales from very small to large and complex deployments as their networks and traffic volumes grow."

Operators that have already been served by the PeerApp-TVC relationship include NET-Fortaleza, a high-speed Internet service provider based in Brazil.

"As the value of transparent caching becomes widely acknowledged, we are constantly looking for more effective ways to deliver our UltraBand solution to network operators globally," said Javier Jimenez, senior vice president and general manager for the Americas at PeerApp. "Wesco's and TVC's presence across the hemisphere, combined with their deep understanding of network technologies, makes them an ideal partner to bring the benefits of our solution to operators of all types and sizes throughout the Americas."
