Charter Communications is now serving up HBO Go and Max Go online to customers who are currently subscribers to the two premium channels.

More than 1,400 titles on HBO Go and more than 400 titles on Cinemax are now available to Charter subscribers who authenticate themselves prior to viewing. The shows are available anywhere in the nation via a broadband connection on computers, iPhones, iPads and select Android devices with a minimum 3G connection.

Start Over"Charter is taking another step to bring quality video content to our customers when they want it and where they want it," said Marti Moore, vice president of Web technology and customer experience. "If you're not home for the latest episode of a favorite series or an anticipated new release, you can now watch while you're on the go. The convenience of DVRs and on-demand capabilities were just the beginning. With Go, our customers can enjoy great HBO and Cinemax programming from just about anywhere."

Charter said HBO Go and Max Go offer its TV customers most new titles simultaneously with their premiere on HBO and Cinemax. Customers can browse the HBO Go website for movies, documentaries and original series, as well as exclusive bonus material, soundtrack and cast information.

Customers can also create a "watchlist" that keeps track of bookmarked content for later viewing. In addition, HBO Go and Max Go can be personalized through a "Series Pass" capability, which automatically sends new episodes of favorite original series when they arrive on the service.

Charter first dipped its toe into the TV Everywhere waters last summer with a trial that included shows from TNT, TBS, Style, E!, G4 and The Weather Channel. Charter teamed up with Synacor for authentication of the TV Everywhere service during the trial.

In addition to combating the over-the-top threat from the likes of Netflix, TV Everywhere services are turning into a popular feature for cable operators' subscribers. Suddenlink, which also offers HBO Go and Max Go, recently released some metrics on its Suddenlink2Go service.
