After three months of work, Suddenlink Communications has completed its transition to an all-digital channel lineup in Nacogdoches, Texas, which resulted in an influx of new HD channels.

With the additional bandwidth freed up from the conversion from analog to digital channels, Suddenlink's new HD offerings in Nacogdoches include: Versus HD, Lifetime Movie Network HD, Speed HD, The Outdoor Channel HD, Headline News HD, E! HD, truTV HD, The Science Channel HD, Fox Business Network HD, ESPNews HD, ESPNU HD, Sportsman Channel HD, NFL Network HD, Golf Channel HD, NFL Red Zone HD, Turner Classic Movies HD and HBO Family East HD.

The new HD channels were the result of Suddenlink's "Project Imagine," which calls for approximately $350 million of capital investments nationwide through 2012, above and beyond the company's traditional capital spending levels. Suddenlink kicked off Project Imagine in 2009.

In addition to the HD offerings, Project Imagine's roadmap also includes DOCSIS 3.0 launches, expanded digital phone service and more VOD offerings.

As of April, Suddenlink averaged 58 HD channels across its systems, with some topping out at more than 70. Also the same month, Suddenlink said 73 percent of its customers had access to both DOCSIS 3.0 tiers and VOD.

Suddenlink, the nation's seventh-largest cable operator, primarily offers its services in Texas, West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
