The Cable Center announced today a call for nominations for its inaugural Bresnan Ethics in Business Award, which will be presented at The Cable Show in June.

The award was named after cable pioneer Bill Bresnan, who passed away in 2009. Bresnan was chairman of Bresnan Communications and a long-time chairman of the Cable Center's board of directors.

The Cable Center said industry members are invited to nominate outstanding men and women in the cable industry who best exemplified Bill Bresnan's longstanding commitment to ethics in business.

"Those of us who knew Bill also knew he had an extraordinarily high level of integrity, and we are proud to be able to honor him with this award," said Nick Davatzes, retired chief executive officer of A&E Television Networks and chairman of the Bresnan Award selection committee. "It is a fitting tribute to a true role model and cable champion."

Anyone with at least 15 years of service in the industry is eligible for the award. A nomination form and complete details are available on The Cable Center's website. All nominations are due by March 29. An exhibit honoring the award recipients will be on permanent display at The Cable Center.

"Bill was dedicated to not only the cable industry, but also The Cable Center," said Larry Satkowiak, president and chief executive officer of The Cable Center. "We are immensely honored to be able to recognize him, in partnership with the Bresnan family, with this award."

The Cable Center will host its 14th annual Cable Hall of Fame Celebration during Cable Connection – Spring, a week of cable industry events in Chicago June 14-16.
