Alticast taps Malcy as SVP of business development
Interactive TV developer Alticast has hired Mike Malcy as its new senior vice president of business developer.
Malcy made the move to Alticast from ADB and Vidiom Systems where he served as vice president of marketing for The Americans division.
"Alticast and our customers are very fortunate to have someone with Mike Malcy's insight and experience guiding our product and business activities," said Alticast CEO David Housman. "Mike is well known and respected in our business sector, he will help to ensure we continue to anticipate, develop and deliver solutions that meet our US, Canadian and Latin American customers' revenue and operating goals."
Malcy, who officially joins Alticast on March 25, has served as business development, marketing, and legal capacities at Vidiom/ADB over the past eight years.
Prior to joining Vidiom, he spent three years as vice president of Samsung's product innovation laboratory, where he was responsible for introducing the company's HDTV, MP-3 and cable industry products.
Malcy also had a five-year stint as marketing manager at Sharp Laboratories, where his activities included overseeing standards, government policy and the company's collaboration with CableLabs on advanced digital video solutions.
Malcy is actively involved in numerous industry organizations, including CTAM, SCTE and CEA.
Alticast's North American headquarters is in the Denver suburb of Broomfield, Colo., The company's GEM-based software has been deployed in more than 15 million DVB-MHP, tru2way and Blu-ray Disc devices worldwide.
