Dish Network, Comcast SportsNet California reach new accord
Dish Network and Comcast Sports Group announced yesterday that they had struck a new carriage agreement to return Comcast SportsNet California to Dish Network's California lineup.
"Dish Network is an important distribution partner, and this agreement ensures that Dish Network customers receive the best local sports programming in Northern California," said Comcast Sports Group President Jon Litner.
As part of the new accord, the two companies also agreed to terminate all pending arbitration proceedings at the Federal Communications Commission.
Financial terms of the new carriage agreement weren't available.
Prior to the new agreement, Comcast SportsNet California – which, among other sports programming, covers the Sacramento Kings, San Jose Sharks and Oakland A's – wasn't on Dish's lineup for more than two months.
