Cable poobahs are signaling their support of the SCTE's new executive training program by sending some top-level executives as presenters.

Glenn Britt, chairman, president and CEO of Time Warner Cable, and Mike LaJoie, executive vice president and CTO of Time Warner Cable, will appear during the first session of the SCTE's Leadership Institute next year.

Britt and LaJoie will share their perspectives with a select group of technology executives from the operator, vendor and programmer communities during the April 26-30 course offered at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College's Hanover, N.H., campus.

The two executives will engage in frank discussions of the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, the SCTE said, with particular focus on the business and leadership skills needed to plan for, deploy and manage technological change.

Britt, perhaps not coincidentally, is an alumnus of both Dartmouth College and of the Tuck School.

"The ability to align organizational teams and priorities across a constantly changing mix of technology platforms and consumer demands is a required skill set in today's dynamic telecommunications and entertainment environment," he said. "There's no doubt that the critical thinking and innovative approaches that will be fostered by the Tuck faculty will play a tremendous role in helping our industry to evaluate and implement new technologies that will help us maintain our competitive edge."

Applications are now being accepted for the program, which is open to qualified executives in the United States and abroad. Applications and a complete curriculum are available at the Society's website.

The application deadline is Feb. 15, and the class size is limited.
