Rogers Communications is considering sharing its LTE network with other cable and telecommunications providers as a way to save on the cost of the network build-out.

According to a story by Bloomberg, Rogers CEO Nadir Mohamed said at a recent conference in Toronto that Canada's largest wireless carrier "would look at the options for sure" in regard to sharing its LTE network.

Rogers has seen increased competition on the wireless front from the likes of BCE Inc. and Telus, both of whom built a faster wireless network last year that allows them to offer service on iPhones. Rogers was previously the only wireless carrier to carry service on iPhones.

Rogers started LTE trials last moth.
