Ensequence, WE tv, Wedding Central team up on EBIF

Starting next year, viewers of Rainbow Media-owned WE tv and Wedding Central will be able to interact with some of their favorite shows thanks to an EBIF application from Ensequence.
The interactive features will include voting and polling with live results, trivia, a live Twitter feed, RSS integration, and viewing suggestions with record and remind features.
The EBIF functionality will be paired with WE tv and Wedding Central shows, including “Bridezillas,” “My Fair Wedding with David Tutera,” “The Locator” and the 2011 premiere of “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?”
The two programmers will be using the Ensequence iTV Manager to enable the interactive features. Ensequence said WE tv and Wedding Central would be able to quickly and efficiently schedule and update interactive TV programming and report on viewer interaction trends and usage.
"WE tv and Wedding Central have truly embraced powerful new in-program interactive TV capabilities that improve the viewing experience and are a perfect fit for their programming genres," said Peter Low, Ensequence’s president and CEO. "We are excited to help WE tv and Wedding Central deploy custom iTV experiences in large volumes and in as many programs as they wish."
Rainbow Media is a division of Cablevision, although the cable operator is thinking about spinning it off into a separate entity.
Cablevision has been active on the EBIF front by installing EBIF clients on set-top boxes throughout its New York metropolitan footprint.
