Comcast has extended availability of 3G wireless data service in Connecticut and Vermont under its Xfinity Internet2go label.

As is the case with 3G in other Comcast markets, the wireless service is Sprint's re-branded by Comcast.

Comcast said it will start offering 4G/WiMAX wireless broadband in Vermont and Connecticut when Sprint subsidiary Clearwire expands into those markets; that expansion is scheduled to occur before the end of the year.

As is now customary, Comcast will bundle mobile broadband with its fixed broadband product as a "Fast Pack." The 12-month promotional price for the bundle is $54.99 per month.

That tier includes Comcast high-speed Internet home service with download speeds up to 12 Mbps, a free Wi-Fi router for mobility and extended coverage inside the home, and nationwide 3G mobile network access.

Customers who already subscribe to Comcast high-speed Internet are eligible to receive Xfinity Internet2go Nationwide (3G) service as an add-on for as low as $40 per month, the company said.
