After beginning to take orders back in September, Boxee's over-the-top set-top is finally hitting the market.

Customers will initially be able to get access to content through Vudu, Mubi, IndieMoviesOnline, OpenFilm, EZTakes and Ooyala. Boxee said access to content from Netflix should be available shortly and that it is working on a deal with Hulu to get Hulu Plus.

The box supports video streaming in 1080p and connects with a broadband connection via Wi-Fi 802.11n or Ethernet. The box, built by D-Link, is based on the Intel Atom processor, which was built specifically for devices such as Boxee's that combine TV and the Internet.

The $199 box was originally based on an Nvidia chip, but Boxee elected to go with the Atom processor.

The company has signed on with Widevine for DRM and adaptive streaming and is supported by thePlatform.
