AT&T U-verse video customers who subscribe to HBO and Cinemax can now access more than 1,200 hours of streamed content via the cable networks’ Web portals.

With the free service, AT&T U-verse subscribers can access the content from HBO and Cinemax anywhere in the nation with an Internet connection.

AT&T said that streaming content from Cinemax and HBO would soon be available on its U-Verse Online portal. For now, U-verse’s subscribers can access the streaming content from Cinemax’s MAXGo.com site or HBOGo.com by using their U-verse login ID and password.

"We're proud to deliver more value to U-verse TV subscribers by offering compelling content from HBO and Cinemax online," said Dan York, president of content at AT&T. "This latest U-verse enhancement is just one more way we're giving U-verse TV customers access to hit TV shows in more places – whether that's on their big screen HDTV, downloaded to their smartphone with U-verse Mobile or one of the more than 130,000 titles at U-verse Online."

AT&T launched its TV Everywhere Web portal last year, which included content from Hulu, and then rebranded the site as U-verse Online earlier this year.

Comcast and Verizon also have deals in place to provide streamed content from HBO and Cinemax.

In other AT&T news, the company announced this morning that it teamed up with BT to provision an inter-provider exchange-to-exchange telepresence meeting capability.

With Cisco’s Telepresence, the service connects AT&T and BT’s telepresence exchanges, which allows their business customers to set up virtual face-to-face meetings.
