Midcontinent Communications will use Ixia's enterprise and carrier service assurance solution to monitor its enterprise customer service delivery.

Midcontinent will use IxRave SLA Assure to guarantee its committed service level agreements (SLAs) by verifying the quality of class of service (CoS)-tagged application delivery via metrics such as jitter, latency and packet loss.

"IxRave was the only solution that gave us a single test and monitoring platform for both end-to-end network and customer premise testing," said Jon Pederson, vice president of technology for Midcontinent Communications. "Our network operations center is able to continually monitor the quality of our customers' service experience. We differentiate ourselves and instill confidence in our commitment to provide excellent service by allowing customer access to our test capabilities."

"Meeting SLAs is crucial in maintaining positive customer relations, as well as providing excellent customer service," said Ted Burns, senior director of carrier operations at Ixia. "IxRave SLA Assure not only allows for constant SLA monitoring, but lowers operating costs. By proactively testing the network, IxRave finds problems before the customers do, which lowers calls to the customer help desk, reduces subscriber churn risk and decreases costly truck rolls."
