AT&T's triple-play suite of U-verse services is now available in parts of Guilford, Forsyth, Rockingham and Alamance counties in North Carolina – the Piedmont Triad.
Time Warner Cable, the nation's second-largest cable operator, currently offers services in the Piedmont Triad region.
"Cable has been the only game in town for too long, and we're excited to change that today in the Triad area," said Alison Hall, vice president and general manager of AT&T Carolinas.
U-verse TV customers have the ability to manage their recordings and download and watch TV shows from a qualifying smartphone with U-verse Mobile.
Television subscribers can also manage and playback recorded programs from a single DVR on any U-verse-connected TV in the house with Total Home DVR, as well as choose and watch up to four channels at one time with the My Multiview app. And U-verse TV offers more than 130 HD channels.
Packages for AT&T's U-verse high-speed Internet service include a range of speeds, with the fastest downstream speeds up to 24 Mbps.
U-verse Voice is the third element of AT&T's triple-play suite.
