Sonus shrinks a bit to save money
Sonus Networks is closing a pair of offshore offices and reducing its headcount by 12 people, or about 1 percent of its employees, all in an effort to reduce expenses.
Sonus expects the moves to save it approximately $2 million to $2.3 million.
"These initiatives follow the restructuring activities we undertook last year and are consistent with our ongoing efforts to further strengthen Sonus' operating efficiencies and more closely align the company's cost structure with our market opportunities," commented Richard Nottenburg, president and chief executive officer of Sonus.
The company's operations in Ottawa, Canada and Darmstadt, Germany, will be relocated to Freehold, N.J.
