NFL Network adds NCTC to its roster
Just in time for the start of the season, the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) and NFL Network announced that they have reached a long-term carriage agreement.
The new master agreement will give NCTC cable members access to NFL Network's pre-game shows, live games and other programming, as well as NFL RedZone.
The NCTC counts 17 of the top 20 cable operators in the nation among its membership; it serves more than 26.7 million cable subscribers through its cable membership.
"The NFL season is here, and we are pleased that NFL Network and NFL RedZone will now be available to NCTC members," said John Malkin, vice president of affiliate relations for the NFL Network. "More fans can now enjoy the only network dedicated entirely to football, featuring every preseason NFL game and Thursday Night Football regular season games, as well as the exciting NFL RedZone that highlights every touchdown from every game on Sunday afternoons."
The 7-year-old NFL Network hasn't been able to strike deals with some cable operators, including Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Charter Communications and Cablevision.
