In the media: Cord cutting still not happening much

The cord-cutting phenomenon remains limited, according to an article in today's New York Times.

While the article doesn't provide any startling information, it is notable for what it doesn't do: It doesn't mention TV Everywhere.

It does note that premium content is not easily available for free through the Internet, driving at least some people who gave up their subscriptions to MVPD services to re-subscribe.

Netflix is singled out as a particularly successful possible alternative, but thus far Netflix seems to be complementing MVPD services, not replacing them, the article notes.
