Clearwire announced today that it's now offering its 4G mobile broadband service, which it calls Clear, in five additional cities.

The Clear WiMAX service launched today in Jacksonville, Fla.; Wilmington, Del.; Stockton and Modesto, Calif.; and Grand Rapids, Mich. With today's rollouts, Clearwire's 4G network now serves 49 markets.

Comcast and Time Warner Cable have typically launched their branded 4G services, which are provisioned through Clearwire, in markets after Clear has first launched.

In most markets, unlimited 4G coverage from Clear starts at $30 for the home, while unlimited mobile plans start at $40. Bundled services such as home and on-the-go and home and voice plans start at $55 per month.

Clearwire's investors include Sprint, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Intel and Bright House Networks.

Last week, Best Buy announced it would be selling a white-label 4G service from Clearwire in its stores.
