Cox Communications and Verizon have both secured the rights to show this weekend's Yankees-Mariners games in 3D in certain markets

Cox said the games will air on the Yes Network 3D in it systems servings Manchester and in Meriden, Conn. Best Buy stores in the area will re-air Saturday's 3D Yankees game from opening to 4:00 p.m., leading up to the live coverage of Sunday's games at 4:10.

The games will also be available to Verizon FiOS TV customers throughout New York state and northern New Jersey, also on the Yes Network.

Viewers will need 3D TVs, and associated glasses.

Verizon said it plans to announce additional 3D broadcasts and is currently developing a formal 3D offering that will be available in time for the winter holiday-shopping season, "when 3D television sales are expected to spike."
