TiVo is offering a free, new tool, which is called FrameChannel, that lets broadband-connected DVRs personalize Web content on users’ TVs.

TiVo announced today that FrameChannel lets TiVo customers personalize the delivery of local news, weather and sports, as well as get updates from social network sites including Facebook, Twitter and Digg.

The FrameChannel application allows users to create slideshows of information that are constantly updated based on customers’ preferences and location. Users can further customize the information feeds via their favorite RSS links.

FrameChannel also allows users to create slideshows of pictures from Flickr, Facebook and other sites.

FrameChannel is available on broadband-connected TiVo Series2, Series3, TiVo HD and Premiere DVRs.
