After a soft launch the past few weeks, Insight Communications has officially debuted its cn2 information and local news channel in its Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green and northern Kentucky markets, as well as its Evansville, Ind., market.

Insight CEO Michael Willner offered up the details on cn2 in a blog posting yesterday.

The service, which airs on channel 2 in the markets where it has been launched, will start out with 24-hour local weather coverage before morphing into additional coverage of local news, politics and sports this fall.

On the political front, Willner wrote that cn2 will feature former Lexington Herald-Leader reporter Ryan Alessi, who will focus on Kentucky politics.
