Suddenlink Communications has decided to deploy monitoring systems from Mixed Signals across all of its systems, which are dotted across the country.

Mixed Signals’ S2E (Source to Edge) solution, which includes its Sentry and Medius products, monitor video content to help MSOs ensure quality of experience (QoE).

Suddenlink has been installing a number of technologies to improve operations lately, not only with the monitoring systems from Mixed Signals, but earlier adopting a workforce management system from TOA Technologies and deploying quality monitoring equipment from Empirix.

“Our top priority has always been to provide our customers with outstanding products and service, which includes delivery of exceptional programming, free from audio and video errors,” said John Heintz, director of digital video for Suddenlink.

Suddenlink investigated a variety of solutions to help ensure QoE, Mixed Signals said, and ultimately chose Mixed Signals’ solution because of its ability to monitor programming at the MPEG, IP and quality levels. This comprehensive and scalable monitoring enables Suddenlink to better manage its networks and more quickly identify the root cause of issues, such as tiling, video freeze, video black, and the loss of single-and multi-channel audio.

S2E can be deployed in all key locations of a cable network, from network operation centers (NOCs) and headends to hubs, enabling operators to comprehensively monitor content throughout their networks.

Suddenlink Communications claims approximately 1.3 million residential customers and thousands of commercial customers in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, West Virginia and elsewhere.
