At The Cable Show in Los Angeles this week, Panasonic is demonstrating its Full HD 3-D Viera plasma displays, as well as its latest cable technologies, including its Full HD 3-D Home Theater, new tru2way applications and Panasonic’s new Remote User Interface (RUI) technology.
“The cable industry is already playing a crucial role in the development of 3-D in consumer homes by the creation of a broad range of 3-D channels that will deliver exciting, cutting-edge content that will truly underscore the power of 3-D,” said Eisuke Tsuyuzaki, Panasonic Corp. of North America’s CTO. “As a leader in 3-D technology, Panasonic is working closely with key cable industry companies to develop Full HD 3-D technology for future set-top box models so that more and more cable consumers can start enjoying the stunning entertainment value that 3-D delivers.”
And Panasonic is working with tru2way application developers, including Related Content Database (RCDb) and Zodiac Interactive, to help broaden the application space for tru2way products.
RCDb is demonstrating the live integration of Panasonic’s tru2way STB with the RCDb Web services platform, which enables cable ops to integrate, deploy and manage popular consumer services from across the Web without the need for a browser, keyboard or mouse on the consumer device.
Meanwhile, Zodiac Interactive is demonstrating – utilizing Panasonic’s set-top boxes – its new PowerUp AMS, a server-based offering to deliver multi-screen, two-way connectivity between STBs and mobile Internet devices. The solution provides universal integration between Web and mobile services for multi-screen convergence in both legacy and next-gen MSO STB environments.
