German MSO Kabel BW is preparing to offer 100 Mbps broadband based on EuroDOCSIS 3.0 equipment from Motorola, including the vendors’ BSR 64000 integrated CMTS (I-CMTS) and TX32 decoupled downstream modules.
Motorola said it also provided integration and implementation services in support of Kabel BW’s network rollout.
Motorola’s I-CMTS can support two fully redundant TX32 modules and is designed to offer operators five times more downstream capacity while reducing the cost per port by up to 60 percent.
With Motorola’s EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and channel bonding solutions, Kabel BW can deliver additional advanced multimedia via higher-rate broadband service tiers while protecting existing DOCSIS deployments and investment, Motorola said.
Kabel BW operates in Baden-Wuerttemberg and claims more than 2.3 million customers.
