Cox Communications has chosen Transplace, a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, to manage its transportation planning and execution in the U.S.

Transplace said that its Transportation Management System (TMS) will provide shipment lifecycle visibility, reduce direct transportation costs and improve overall operational efficiencies for Cox.

“The Transplace commercial model aligned with our business goals, while their technology met our exacting functional requirements,” said Jeff Osbourne, director of supply chain management at Cox. “Transplace’s professional management and deep transportation industry knowledge are expected to aid us in reaching and supporting Cox’s business with efficient transportation support.”

“By being solely responsible for Cox’s domestic transportation network and offering them access to real-time data, Transplace enables Cox to keep a watchful eye on service levels, creating a robust framework for any needed continuous improvement initiatives,” said Matthew Menner, senior vice president of sales and alliances for Transplace.
