Comcast has rolled out its High-Speed 2go 3G service to additional subscribers in Illinois, as well as northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan.

Comcast’s High-Speed 2go service is a mobile Internet offering that includes both 4G and 3G wireless data services. Comcast launched two versions of High-Speed 2go, Metro and Nationwide, in Chicago in December.

Comcast’s 4G WiMAX service is provisioned through its stake in Clearwire, while the 3G version uses Sprint’s national 3G network.

"We're excited to expand our High-Speed 2go options by now offering the new Nationwide 3G-only service plan," said LeAnn Talbot, senior vice president for Comcast in Illinois, northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan. "Consumers want mobile Internet access on-the-go, and we are continuing to extend the variety of our service offers so that consumers can choose plans that work best for their needs."

Comcast said consumers will have bundled access to both wired and wireless Internet, which are sold together as a "Fast Pack" for as low as $54.99 per month for one year. Both new and existing Comcast customers will be eligible for special bundled pricing, with Xfinity Internet customers receiving 3G wireless as an add-on for as low as $40 per month.

The Fast Pack Nationwide 3G service includes Xfinity Performance Internet service, a free Wi-Fi router for mobility and extended coverage in the home, and nationwide 3G mobile network access.
